Esther de Waal is well known to Benedictine Oblates (lay associates of the Benedictine order who don’t have to be Catholic to be members) as the author of the book Seeking God, originally published in 1984 with a second edition released circa 2001.
In 1984 I bought a small Fount Paperback. It was called Seeking God, by Esther de Waal. It was an Archbishop of Canterbury Lent book, an exposition of the Rule of St Benedict intended to encourage non monastics to live by the key principles of the Rule.
They also study and discuss chapter by chapter from the book “Seeking God: The Way of St. Benedict” by Esther de Waal. They meet each other seven times a year: six Saturdays from 09:30 a.m. until 05:30 p.m. and one weekend from Friday 4:00 p.m. until Sunday 2:00 p.m.
